On this week’s episode of America’s Got Talent Season 18, Brazilian singer Gabriel Henrique received a Golden Buzzer from judge Sofia Vergara for his soaring performance of “Run to You” by Whitney Houston. He took to Instagram to share what the moment meant to him.
Gabriel Henrique Reacts to AGT Golden Buzzer Moment
Gabriel posted several photos to his Instagram showing the moment he earned the Golden Buzzer, as confetti rained down on the stage. The singer wrote a lengthy caption in Portuguese sharing his excitement over the honor.
“It’s so much emotion that I’m feeling that words can’t express, but before ANYTHING I have to say that ALL honor will ALWAYS be given to God, because if it wasn’t for Him none of this would be possible!” Gabriel wrote, according to a translation.
The singer went on to write that he was invited to appear on AGT when he was “going through such a difficult and personal time in my life.” He added that he “would never have imagined that God would take me there” to audition for the show.
Gabriel thanked AGT “for believing and trusting in my talent,” and he also shared his gratitude to Vergara for hitting the Golden Buzzer. He finished his post by writing, “I can’t explain how I feel, there are a lot of emotions, I have just gratitude.”

Gabriel’s Performance Wowed the Judges
Gabriel’s performance earned a standing ovation from all four judges. Heidi Klum told the singer, “If Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey had a baby, it would be Gabriel.”
“I did not expect that voice to come out of you,” Howie Mandel said. “You sound like the best and finest pop diva there ever was. I would imagine people are watching this now in the other room. They’re gonna go, ‘Did you hear that song? Come in and see who sang that.’ You’re amazing.”
Simon Cowell told Gabriel that “people are gonna really like you.” He added, “You don’t know how good you are.”
Before hitting the Golden Buzzer, Vergara told Gabriel, “I don’t have words. That was so perfect, spectacular.” She said the singer was “what I was waiting for, something very beautiful and very heartfelt.”
