‘America’s Got Talent’ Auditions Wrap with Some of the Coolest Acts Yet

On Tuesday night, America’s Got Talent Season 16 returned for the final episode of auditions. The night also featured a brief look at the judges’ deliberation over which acts should move on to this season’s live shows.

The show saved some of the coolest acts for last. Although there wasn’t a Golden Buzzer during this week’s episode, we got to watch plenty of amazing and unique talent.

Contortionist Wows in Final ‘America’s Got Talent’ Audition

The final audition of the season came from a contestant called Dflex. This contortionist is from Nigeria, and he told the judges that he wanted to win the show so he could “give my family the life they deserve.” He mentioned that he has a baby girl and a wife who’s helped him along his journey.

Dflex showed off his incredible flexibility in an act that shocked the judges. They ended up giving him a standing ovation, which brought Dflex to tears. He said he dedicated the performance to his wife, whom he called after his audition.

Heidi Klum said she loved his facial expressions, describing him as weird and beautiful. Simon Cowell, meanwhile, complimented his passion and determination to win. All four judges voted “yes” to sending Dflex through. It’s not every day we watch a contortion act that gets us so emotional.

Contestant Juggles Like You’ve Never Seen Before

One of the most surprising auditions of the night came from Sergio Paolo, who is from Chile with family from Colombia. Paolo is a juggler who puts a twist on the talent like we’ve never witnessed. Not only did he flawlessly juggle several balls, but he also showed off some acrobatics.

Paolo actually did a backflip while juggling, without missing a beat. He also bounced the balls while walking down a set of steps, never dropping them. Cowell said he thought that “juggling can be very boring,” but Paolo’s act was far from it. The juggler received four “yes” votes to move on. If he makes it to the live shows, we can’t wait to see what new and exciting tricks he shows off.

Dancer Doesn’t Need a Partner to Blow the Judges Away

The judges were totally shocked by a dancing act called Pasha and Aliona. When Pasha stepped out, he said he was originally from Russia and usually dances with his wife, who missed her flight. He said he’d have to perform the audition on his own.

This quickly turned out to be a fake story setting up his unique act, in which he dances as two people at once, with the help of some very lifelike dolls. The spectacular costume allows him to show off moves that would normally be impossible to achieve.

It’s hard to figure out what’s real and what’s illusion in Pasha’s routine, and that’s what makes it so fun to watch. Vergara said she’s “never seen anything like this,” while Howie Mandel joked to Pasha that he’ll freak children out with the routine. The judges were wowed, and they voted to send Pasha through.

‘AGT’ Judges Deliberate on Which Acts Should Go to the Live Shows

At the end of the night, the judges met up at Cowell’s Malibu home to revisit this year’s auditions on a big screen in his backyard. The show reminded viewers of some of the best acts from the season, divided into categories. The judges were tasked with choosing 36 acts to go to the live shows.

Based on the footage, it looks like the judges had a hard time narrowing it down, and they even got into a few arguments. America’s Got Talent will be on hiatus for the next two weeks to make room for Olympics coverage on NBC. We’ll have to wait until the live shows start on August 10 to find out which acts made it through.
