Auditions Are Open for ‘America’s Got Talent’ Spinoff ‘AGT: Extreme’

America’s Got Talent has seen a lot of extreme talent over the years. Now, the franchise will deliver a new series dedicated to these unique acts. On AGT: Extreme, you will see some of the most outrageous and jaw-dropping daredevil acts. The NBC Network has ordered the spinoff from Simon Cowell and his Syco entertainment company. Contestants can submit their info now for the chance to show off their extreme abilities.

What to Expect on AGT: Extreme

Year after year, America’s Got Talent features a number of danger acts. From escape artists, magicians, and straight up daredevils, there have always been some extreme contestants to grace the AGT stage. Unfortunately among the other genres of talent, these acts can oftentimes be cut prematurely from the competition. Now, NBC is offering a platform dedicated to them.

So what can viewers expect from AGT: Extreme? Well for one, audiences can expect to see more wild and outlandish acts than ever before. The latest U.S. spinoff series is also based on a British format of the same title. Interestingly, Cowell is reported to appear as a judge on the show, however the rest of the panel has not been announced.

Originally, the show was slated to premiere during the summer. Considering the fact that the auditions have just opened, I think it’s safe to say that the show’s production has been a bit delayed. Eager participants can submit their info now to AGT casting director Krystal Leigh Cunningham for a chance to be featured on the show.

Notable Acts That Could Have Appeared on AGT:Extreme

The AGT: Extreme spinoff brings to mind a few noteworthy acts who could have prospered on the series. Season 16 in particular featured escape artist, Matt Johnson. His death defying audition left the audience on the edge of their seats, and earned him a spot in the Quarterfinal round. Here, he delivered a terrifying chainsaw act. Ultimately, he did receive mixed reviews on his performance. Some even say it was a bit dramatic. However, perhaps if Johnson competed on AGT: Extreme, he would have survived past the Quarterfinals.

Tonight, the current season of AGT, will showcase the first evening of Semifinalist acts. Among those on the list, is Aerialist Aidan Bryant. To me, I would definitely put this skill in the extreme category. the 16-year-old performs his act suspended high above the stage with no harness. One wrong move and he would be in a world of trouble. This level of showmanship would surely thrive on AGT:Extreme. If he doesn’t make it past the Semifinals, perhaps he could try his luck on NBC’s new spinoff.

The acrobat trio, Rialcris also received enough votes to appear on the Semifinals. Their gravity defying, hand-balancing act is one that I believe requires some extreme skill, let alone some extreme bravery. The Colombian performers are one to watch in the competition, but anything can happen on the AGT stage. It’s good to know that now, there is a new home for acts just like these.

Keep an eye out for further announcements as to when AGT: Extreme will hit NBC.
