America’s Got Talent and The Voice alum Brooke Simpson has received the greatest compliment from Billie Eilish. Eilish commented on Simpson’s TikTok cover of “Happier Than Ever.”
On July 17, Brooke Simpson shared a cover video on TikTok. Within the video performance she explained she’s “always wanted to sing this song, but didn’t want to give my mom a heart attack.”
From there, she went on to sing a powerful rendition of “Happier Than Ever” by Billie Eilish. Simpson put her own spin on the song with word emphasis and various runs. Throughout the cover her passion is clearly portrayed. This cover was so impressive because it shows off her insane vocal control, she’s never out of breath, even when she’s adventuring into her high register.
Billie Eilish Comments on Brooke Simpson’s “Happier Than Ever” Cover
Since this video was published, it’s brought in 1.3 million views, including none other than Billie Eilish herself. The “Happier Than Ever” original singer is seen in the 10,600 comments left on the video.
“Dude what does it feel like to be able to sing like this?!” Eilish wrote.
Simpson had a total fangirl moment over this comment and we don’t blame her. First, she replied saying she forgot how to breathe when the comment came in.
“BRUH I HAVE SUDDENLY FORGOT HOW TP BREATHE. LIKE WHAT?!?! thank u,” she wrote.
Then, she shared the comment in another video reacting to the comment physically.

It’s clear that this was a pretty big moment for the America’s Got Talent alum. Simpson first showed her love for Eilish on AGT season 16, when she sang “Lost Cause” in the quarterfinals. Her beautiful rendition of the tune kept her in the competition. America loved Simpson’s voice so much that she finished the competition out in fourth place.
Since finishing the competition series, Simpson has released two singles, posted cover songs, and even took on a new gig. She’s currently appearing in a Broadway-bound revival of the stage musical 1776.
