Brandon Leake’s Short Film “Complexity” is Screening in Los Angeles Today

Brandon Leake is officially releasing his debut short film. Complexity has been accepted to screen during the Indie Night Film Festival in Los Angeles, California.

Brandon Leake Announces Los Angeles Screening of His Short Film Complexity

Written and directed by the America’s Got Talent winner himself, Complexity is a short film that’s been three years in the making. Now, Leake is asking all the entertainment junkies around Los Angeles to go watch it on the big screen.

“LOS ANGELES!!!! #Complexity is coming to you this Saturday at the @indienightff,” he wrote. “If you are in the area and you got love for me please be there.”

Showtime will begin on October 7, at 3:00 p.m at TCL Chinese Theatre. The film’s red carpet will take place an hour before the screening. If bought ahead, tickets are $20. Walk-in ticket prices will be $25.

“This is a major win to be considered, I believe have a true shot of being able to win, and I want you my friends, fam, and fans to be there with me. Love y’all!” he wrote.

On September 24, Leake announced that Complexity is “finally finished” and ready to screen at upcoming film festivals worldwide.

“Our short film ‘Complexity‘ is a story of Faith, Racial Reconciliation, Rage, and Healing. This project was 100% created in my hometown of @stocktonca and I’d like to thank everyone responsible for its creation,” he wrote.

Just recently, Leake announced that Complexity has been accepted to screen in at Atlanta, Georgia. BBR Media Group approved the film and added it in the list of films for their watching festival.

He Made an Appreciation Post for the Actors of the Film

Ahead of the film’s premiere, Leake took the time to send his good words for the actors of Complexity. The AGT winner uploaded a series of snaps of their behind-the-scenes of the creation of the film. In his caption, Leake first mentioned Toy Anderson-Cook, whom he described as the “mother on set.”

“You took care of us as if we were your own fam and your light made everyone’s day brighter. You were a true professional and your skill shown on screen,” he wrote.

He then mentioned actor Sharmaarke Purcell, whom he tagged as the “hilarious anime nerd.” According to Leake, Purcell was the bar in regards to acting skill and decorum. For the antagonist in the film, Brian D. Cohen, Leake especially pointed out how he was able to pull his character with grace.

Leake also mentioned Benjamin Widner and Michael Ward, Efficial, Malachi McKinney, and others.

“There are a lot more actors I need to highlight but for now,” he wrote. “This is what I had the energy to do lol.”

At the time of this post, Complexity has “officially placed at 3 of the 6 film festivals” they have applied for screening. According to the director, they still have over 80 film festivals to hear back from.
