AGT Moves Into The Live Shows

America’s Got Talent is now moving into the beginning of the live shows for 2022. There are some changes to the season, that may not be the best for fans of the original format. One of the changes is the fact that Judge Cuts have once again been ditched this year. As seen earlier this week, the judges deliberated each act at the end of the final audition episode, instead of including another round of the season.

Another difference is that the live shows will not take place in the Dolby Theatre this year. Live shows will instead return at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, where auditions are taped. The beginning of the live shows will be called the Qualifiers Round, as opposed to the quarterfinals. Within each episode, 11 acts will battle it out for one of the ten places in the finale. After each episode, America’s votes will send two acts into the finals.

There will be five of these episodes in total, meaning one episode will feature two Golden Buzzer recipients. The competition is tighter than ever on America’s Got Talent with these changes and the strong contenders we’ve seen this season. The AGT live shows begin on NBC on Tuesday, August 9 at 8 p.m. ET.
