The Voice alum Morgan Wallen was arrested on Sunday night in Nashville over an incident in which he allegedly threw a chair off the roof of Eric Church’s six-story bar Chief’s.

Morgan Wallen Arrested for Throwing Chair at Bar

Wallen was arrested on Sunday night and booked early Monday morning in Nashville for allegedly throwing a chair off the rooftop of Chief’s bar, which is six stories high. The chair apparently landed on the street below, close to two police officers.

The 30-year-old country singer has been charged with three counts of felony reckless endangerment and one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct over the incident. According to Us Weekly, officers reviewed a video from the bar that showed Wallen “lunging and throwing an object over the roof” and laughing.

The police department shared the details of Wallen’s arrest on X (formerly Twitter) Monday morning, along with his mugshot, in which the singer can be seen smiling at the camera. Wallen’s bond was set at $15,250. He’s set to appear in court on May 3.

Chief’s is a bar and music venue owned by country singer Eric Church. The six-story location just opened last week at 200 Broadway in downtown Nashville.

This Isn’t Wallen’s First Controversy

Sunday’s arrest is not the first controversy of Wallen’s career. In fact, it’s the second time he’s been arrested at a celebrity’s Nashville bar. In May 2020, the singer was arrested outside of Kid Rock’s bar, Big Honky Tonk, for public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He was later cleared of the charges.

Wallen later received backlash in 2021 when a video was released in which he could be heard using the N-word. The singer’s music was temporarily removed from several stations and online playlists, and his record label suspended his contract indefinitely.

The controversy didn’t have much of an impact on Wallen’s popularity, as he continued to top the charts. However, he angered some fans in 2023 when he canceled a concert at the last minute after losing his voice. He ended up postponing even more dates due to a vocal cord injury.
