The Best Married Couple Acts on ‘America’s Got Talent’

America’s Got Talent has featured a number of duos over the years, some of whom have been married couples. These acts have done everything from acrobatics to singing, with some dangerous stunts thrown in for good measure. Let’s take a look back at our favorites.

The Best ‘AGT’ Married Couple Acts

1. Duo Transcend

Mary Wolfe-Nielsen and Tyce Nielsen are a married couple who performs on the trapeze. They first auditioned for Season 13 of the show. During the Judge Cuts, Mary had a scary fall but thankfully was not seriously injured. The couple returned in the Quarterfinals to recreate the routine without a hitch. Mary and Tyce made it to the Finals and later returned for AGT: The Champions Season 2, finishing in second place.

2. Us the Duo

Season 13 also featured another married couple, Michael and Carissa Alvarado. They called themselves Us the Duo, uploading musical covers online. Throughout the competition, they sang original songs, including one for their unborn baby called “Like I Did With You.” The pair made it to the Semifinals and later welcomed their daughter Xyla Rose.

3. Deadly Games

Alfredo and Anna Silva competed on Season 11 of AGT with an intense danger act in which Alfredo threw knives at Anna. They made it to the Semifinals and later returned for Season 1 of AGT: The Champions, earning the Golden Buzzer from Heidi Klum. Alfredo and Anna later split up, and Alfredo continued Deadly Games with a new partner, Aleksandra Kiedrowicz.

4. Raii and Whitney Smith

Also in Season 11, another married couple auditioned, this time with a singing act. Raii and Whitney, aka “The Smiths,” performed Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s “You’re All I Need to Get By” in their audition, sharing that they worked as background vocalists. The judges were impressed by the strong performance, sending them through. Unfortunately, they didn’t make it past the Judge Cuts.

5. Celina and Filiberto

In Season 13, elderly Cuban couple Celina and Filiberto made the crowd go wild with their dirty dancing routine. They didn’t let their age stop them from being sexy. Mel B buzzed the act, but the other judges liked it enough to send them through. They returned for the Judge Cuts, with Simon Cowell calling their performance “100 Shades of Grey.” Unfortunately, they didn’t make it to the Quarterfinals.

6. Duo MainTenanT

In Season 14, French married couple Ludivine Furnon and Nicolas Besnard wowed the judges with their sexy acrobatic dance act. Nicolas effortlessly flipped Ludivine in the air, and at one point Ludivine balanced on his forehead with just one hand. The couple earned a standing ovation and returned for the Judge Cuts, where they were unfortunately eliminated.

7. Oleksandr and Aurélie Yenivatov

America’s Got Talent Season 17 is still ongoing, but we’ve already been introduced to a married couple — Ukrainian contortionist Oleksandr Yenivatov and his wife Aurélie. The judges were freaked out by their audition, in which Oleksandr played a corpse while Aurélie stretched his body into seemingly impossible positions. Cowell initially buzzed the act, but he later took it back and voted “yes” along with the other judges.
