Tory Vagasy Asks Fans to Help Get Her to the ‘America’s Got Talent’ Live Shows

Season 16 America’s Got Talent contestant Tory Vagasy just asked fans for their help in getting her through to the live shows. We saw a clip at the end of the last episode of AGT that indicates the judges already made their final decisions. It seems a little odd that Tory is calling upon her fans to get her to the Quarterfinals. Is this Instagram Story a clue to a big twist?

“Hey! I need YOUR help! If you want to see me on the live shows, let AGT know!” Tory wrote on Instagram. “Comment on their IG, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook that you want to see me in the next round.”

Tory Vagasy’s Instagram Post Raises Questions About How the ‘AGT’ Live Shows Will Work

There are two possible scenarios as to why Tory asked her fans to show love. The first is obviously to just get her name out there even more. The more people see Tory’s name on social media, the more they’ll view her audition and find their way over to her social media accounts. One thing that AGT does very well is give all of its acts a platform. Tory is already pretty popular on TikTok with over 309,000 followers.

A simple way for Tory to get even more followers is to have her name floating on popular social media accounts at all times. AGT did not make any recent posts specifically asking which contestants fans want to see in the live shows. But, that will not them from spamming posts with Tory’s name.

Another reason why Tory might have posted that Instagram Story is because she knows something that we don’t. There are six Golden Buzzers headed straight to the live shows. AGT left viewers in the dark about which 36 acts will be joining them. After 44 acts made it to the live shows last year, we assume the 36 acts is in addition to the Golden Buzzers this year.

This would mean that only 42 acts would be making it to the live shows this year. Will there be two additional Wildcard slots chosen by viewers? The chances of this are highly unlikely, but AGT has been full of surprises this season. If the judges couldn’t decide on the final few acts, perhaps they will be asking fans to decide for them…live!

Is Tory One of the Acts Advancing to the Quarterfinals?

On July 17, Tory posted a photo in front of the AGT logo and asked what song she should sing next. She wrote that she was “excited for the next month.” Tory did post a photoset from Los Angeles last week. The AGT live shows will take place in Los Angeles at The Dolby Theatre just like they do every year. Was she back in town for AGT related things?

She posed with fellow Season 16 contestants T.3 who also sang “Into the Unknown” for their audition. T.3 also posted a short video clip on their Instagram page asking fans what song they would want to hear them sing next. In another photo, Tory posed with The Curtis Family C-Notes and 1aChord. The Curtis Family C-Notes were one of the acts shown in the teaser that pretty much confirmed they will be going to the live shows.

This was either a gathering for contestants that made it through to the live shows, or a gathering for contestants to do some more promo for AGT. We probably won’t know the real answer until the show returns on August 10. Ahead of that date, Tory actually just revealed some exciting news. She booked her first professional show at Slow Burn Theatre to play the role of Nicola in Kinky Boots in December.
