Why Drake’s Album Announcement Has Twitter Dragging Nick Cannon

Twitter is once again dragging The Masked Singer host Nick Cannon, and it’s all because of Drake’s recent album announcement. The two things might not seem related until you see the image Drake chose to promote the release.

Unsurprisingly, the jokes are a reference to how many children Cannon has with different women. As far as we know, Drake’s announcement wasn’t intended as a dig, but that didn’t stop people from Tweeting about it.

Twitter Drags Nick Cannon Over Drake’s Album Announcement

Drake announced that his new album Certified Lover Boy will be released this Friday, September 3. To accompany this news, the rapper posted an image featuring twelve pregnant woman emojis. This is presumably meant to imply that the title’s “Lover Boy” impregnated all of them.

Journalist Elliott Wilson confirmed on Twitter that this is the album’s cover art. But rather than get excited about new Drake music, some Twitter users chose to poke a little fun at Cannon. “This a collab w/ Nick Cannon?” wrote one user. Another posted, “This should have been Nick Cannon’s album cover.”

For those who haven’t been keeping up, Cannon recently welcomed four children with three different women over the span of six months. He has seven children in total, including his twins Monroe and Moroccan with ex-wife Mariah Carey. Cannon’s growing brood has been a hot topic in recent months.

What Has Cannon Said About His Children?

The most recent additions to Cannon’s family are twin sons Zion and Zillion with DJ Abby De La Rosa, as well as daughter Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell, and son Zen with Alyssa Scott. Cannon also has a 4-year-old son named Golden with Bell.

Cannon has defended his decision to have so many children with different women, insisting that the pregnancies were planned. He said it was “no accident,” adding, “Trust me, there’s a lot of people I could’ve gotten pregnant that I didn’t. The ones that got pregnant are the ones that were supposed to get pregnant. You only live once.”

Neither Cannon nor Drake has responded to the many jokes being made on social media, but it doesn’t look like they’ll be letting up any time soon.
