Yo-Yo Artist Shu Takada Is Taking His Talents to the ‘AGT’ Live Shows

Shu Takada is a yo-yo artist from Japan who is among this week’s final 11 acts performing in the America’s Got Talent live shows. He’s hoping to earn enough votes from viewers at home to move on to the Finals for Season 17.

AGT Star Shu Takada Is a World Yo-Yo Champion

The 25-year-old from Tokyo is a six-time World Yo-Yo Champion. He won his first title in the competition when he was just 15 years old, he has been practicing yo-yo since he was 6 years old. His style is unique in that he incorporates dance and acrobatics into the performances.

Not only does Shu perform around the world, but he also holds classes and workshops in the art of yo-yoing. He’s sponsored by yo-yo brand YoYo Factory and sells signature yo-yos. Shu has also earned a following on social media, with over 160,000 followers on TikTok.

In 2019, Shu appeared on Germany’s Got Talent. Before his audition for AGT Season 17, he told the judges that his dream is “having my show and traveling around the world to share the coolness of yo-yoing.”
