‘AGT’ Finalists Chapel Hart Debut New Song ‘If You Ain’t Wearing Boots’

America’s Got Talent Season 17 finalists Chapel Hart have given fans another preview of their upcoming new album Glory Days, in the form of a song called “If You Ain’t Wearing Boots.” The country trio premiered the song this week as part of an interview with Garden & Gun.

AGT Country Trio Chapel Hart Release New Song

Chapel Hart’s new song “If You Ain’t Wearing Boots” is about the unique experience of growing up in the country, as the group sings, “It may not be for you / But if the shoe don’t fit / It’s ’cause you ain’t wearing boots.”

According to Garden & Gun, the group initially wanted it to be a “sassy” song in the style of their track “You Can Have Him Jolene.” But they ended up reworking the track to have a more sincere approach to the topic of living in the South.

“Songs like ‘If You Ain’t Wearing Boots’ are important, because you’ve gotta know where you come from in order to know where you’re going,” group member Trea Swindle told the outlet. “We realize a lot of people love sharing this experience with us, but at the same time, there are some people who might never understand, because they just didn’t grow up wearing those kinds of boots.”

The Group Is Releasing a New Album Next Month

“If You Ain’t Wearing Boots” is one of the tracks featured on Chapel Hart’s upcoming new album Glory Days, set to be released on May 19. Earlier this month, the group released another track from the album, called “Welcome to Fist City.”

The song is a tribute to country legend Loretta Lynn, who passed away last year at the age of 90. In July, Lynn shared the group’s AGT audition on Facebook, suggesting that they should write a song based on her music like they did with Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.”

The group did just that, with a song inspired by Lynn’s “Fist City.” Unfortunately, Lynn didn’t get a chance to hear it before she passed away, but group member Devynn Hart told Garden & Gun that her granddaughter Tayla Lynn “absolutely loved it.”
